Kim's Retirement
On Friday 5 April the Parish celebrated Kim Woolmer's retirement after 24½ years dedicated service as St Mary's Shrine Manager.
A party was held at the Compton Village Hall for her retirement where up to 130 people of the parish attended.
This was a wonderful opportunity for the parish to wish her all the very best for her future and to give thanks and appreciation for her hard work and loyal service during her 24½ years.
During the evening Father Dominic presented Kim with the Bishop's Medal and Bishop's Award Certificate for her long and dedicated service in the Church which she truly deserved for her professionalism and individual care and thought for everything that she did. She will be sorely missed.
A very special cake was baked by Mario D'Ovidio, our culinary expert, who had a wonderful photo of the sanctuary at St Mary's which was depicted in icing and placed on the cake.
The buffet was supplied by the Abbey Tea Rooms and the music was provided by the Take Two Band who played during the evening and for the dancing which was enjoyed by all.
Thanks to Maggy for providing the above words and accompanying photos.
